Summer Show Schedule      

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is resuming its shows with an additional show from 31st March, 2018 arranged for the public during Summer Vacation at the Planetarium.

Summer Programmes 2018      

Registration for the programmes Tiny Tots, Fun with Science, Hands on Astronomy and Exploriment are FULL as on 28th March 2018

Show Suspension       

The sky theatre shows at the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Bengaluru, will remain suspended for annual maintenance from March 27, 2018. The date of resumption of shows will be announced in due course.

Summer Programmes 2018      

SUMMER PROGRAMMES - in science for students commencing from 3rd April 2018. Registration starts on 27th March 2018 at 10.30 am on first-come-first-served basis.

Instructions for registration :

- Only two seats can be registered by an individual. Considering the constraints of space, the registration is restricted to two registrations. Kindly Co-operate.
- Mode of payment by cash only
- Registration has to be done ONLY in person at the office
- No. of Registration Counter - 3
*Counter No.1 - for the registration of Tiny Tots programme (3rd, 4th & 5th standard students)
*Counter No.2 - for the registration of Fun with Science programme (6th & 7th standard students)
*Counter No.3 - for other programmes (8th standard & above)

Poster Exhibition      

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation is celebrating birth anniversaries of our Founder Director and Founder Chairman Prof. C V Vishveshwara and Prof. U R Rao respectively. On this occasion, a poster exhibition on their multidimensional work is arranged till 10th March 2018 between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm at the Planetarium. Entry is Free.

Know Your Stars       

A sky watch programme entitled 'Know Your Stars' is scheduled on 4th Mar 2018 at 6:30 pm.Charges Rs.30/- per head.

Pratham Books is organising an interactive story telling session titled 'Three Stories to take you to New Worlds' for children between 5 and 6 years on 24th Feb 2018 at 11 am. Entry is free. Interested kids can report the planetarium by 10.45 am.

Kaapi With Kuriosity lecture series entitled "Fascinating World of Photons, Superposition & Entanglement" by Prof. Urbasi Sinha, Associate Professor, Light and Matter Physics group, Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, is scheduled on 25.02.2018 at 4 pm at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium.

Monthly 'Science Club' is scheduled on the topic "Astronomy" on second Sunday of this month at 3 pm. It is mainly targeted at the students studying in classes VIII-XII in order to develop scientific temper among them. Discussions involving concepts of science in understanding significant events and phenomenon will be taken up. Topic will be understood through examples and audio-visual aids.

Celebration of the Month      

This month, to commemorate Daniel Bernoulli's birth anniversary, we have organized a special lecture for science teachers on February 8th at 10:30 am 12:30 pm.

Application for the post of Sr. Scintific Officer      

The application form in the prescribed format downloadable should be sent as a hardcopy along with self-attested copies of documents in support of age, experience and qualification and Conduct Certificates from two references, to the Administrative Officer, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium , Sri T Chowdaiah Road, High Grounds, Bengaluru 560 001 on or before the February 15, 2018. Applications through e-mails, will not be entertained. Incomplete application and those supported by false documents/claims will be rejected.

Know Your Stars       

A sky watch programme entitled "Know Your Stars" is scheduled on 4th Feb 2018 at 6:30 pm.Charges Rs.35/- per head.

Total Lunar Eclipse      

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is making arrangements for public to view the TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE on 31st January 2018 between 6.30 pm and 8:30 pm at the campus. Viewing is possible through different telescopes, provided the sky is clear. Entry is free.

Kaapi With Kuriosity      

Kaapi With Kuriosity public lecture entitled "Black Holes" by Prof. Ramesh Narayan, Thomas Dudley Cabot Professor of the Natural Sciences at Harvard University and Senior Astronomer at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory on 21st Jan 2018 at 4 pm in Planetarium.

Special Lecture      

A special lecture entitled "Ancient light: the microwave background radiation and cosmology" by Prof. Mark Birkinshaw, Cavendish Laboratory's Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory, is scheduled on 20th Jan 2018 at 5 pm in JNP campus.
