Summer Programmes 2016      

SUMMER PROGRAMMES - in science for school children (class 4 to class 10) commencing from 4th April 2016. Registration will be starting from 28 th March 2016 onwards during office hours.

Solar Eclipse      

Solar Eclipse on 9th March 2016 from Sunrise to 6.47 am. As it is only for few minutes no arrangements are planned at the planetarium.

No Shows from March 1st, 2016      

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is happy to inform that a major up-gradation of the planetarium equipment to hybrid projection system has been taken-up from March 1, 2016. The up-gradation work is expected to take few months. There will be no shows during this period. Inconvenience to public is regretted. The date of resumption of shows will be announced in due course.

A press meet on LIGO is arranged at the Planetarium on 26th Feb 2016 from 11 am to 12 noon.

Monthly Science Movie      

Science movie entitled "Human Planet : Jungles" for public on Sunday, the February 21st, 2016 at 6.00 pm. Entry is free.

Tender Notification      

Tender has been published on e-procurement portal at www.eproc.karnataka.gov.in on 12.02.2016 for Design, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning of 7.6 meter dia hemispherical Metal Dome at JNP. Bidders are requested to visit the website selecting Department of IT BT and ST. Details are also available at 'www.taralaya.org'

Sky Watch for public is arranged at the Planetarium on 13th Feb 2016 from 4.30 am till Sunrise. Entry is free.

Know Your Stars      

A sky gazing programme entitled KNOW YOUR STARS on 07.02.2016 (Sunday) at 6.30 pm. Charges Rs.20/- per head.

Monthly Science Movie      

Science movie entitled "Human Planets : Arctic" for public on Sunday, the January 17th, 2016 at 6.00 pm. Entry is free.

A special Sky Watch programme      

These days, the planets Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, and Venus are visible in the pre-dawn sky. On 7th January 2016 Moon, Saturn and Venus will be close to each other and present a beautiful sight. Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is making arrangements to show all these five objects through telescopes, subject to clear skies. Arrangement will be from 4.30 am till Sunrise. Public are requested to make use of this arrangement.
