Activities of Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE)

Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE) is non-commercial autonomous society registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960. It is engaged in science popularization and non-formal science education.

BASE is running Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium since 1992. The shows have become highly popular with over 2.0 lakh visitors benefiting by them.

BASE has established a Science Centre with lecture halls, laboratories, library etc. Several short term and long term educational programmes for students from 7th standard up to B.Sc. and school teachers are organized through out the year. Over 35 students who attended the BASE programmes have registered for Ph.D., in prestigious institutes in India and abroad in the last few years.

BASE is developing a Science Park in its campus. Over 15 models have already been installed. 

Donations will help BASE 

To sustain present level of activity and for the development activity BASE is in need of funds. Donations to BASE are exempt under section 80G of the IT Act 1961 in the hands of the donors subject to the limits prescribed there in as per letter No. DIT(E)/80G/627/W-2-03-04 dated 24.03.2004 of the Commissioner of Income Tax Karnataka - II, Bangalore, valid from 01.04.2003 to 31.03.2006.
