Workshops

JNP is organising a special program 'Tiny Tots' to celebrate Children's Day for 3rd, 4th and 5th Standard students on 19th Nov 2017 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm. Entry is free.

Monthly Science Club is scheduled on the topic "Indian Space Technology" on second Sunday of this month at 4 pm. It is mainly targeted at the students studying in classes VIII-XII in order to develop scientific temper among them. Discussions involving concepts of science in understanding significant events and phenomenon will be taken up. Topics will be understood through examples and audio-visual aids.

Celebration of the Month

This month, we are celebrating Marie Curie's 150th birth anniversary on November 7th under the programme entitled "Celebration of the Month" for the benefit of the teachers. On this occasion a special lecture is scheduled by Dr. Nemichandra, General Manager, HAL Management Academy, on November 7th at 10 am.

This month, we are celebrating Subrhmanyan Chandrashekhar's birth anniversary on October 31st under the programme entitled "Celebration of the Month" for the benefit of the teachers. The programme basically focuses on discussing the contributions of Subrhmanyan Chandrashekhar in the field of Astrophysics.

One-day workshop on 'Conservation Laws' for high school science teachers is scheduled on 13th October 2017 between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm. Charges Rs.250/- per head.

A three-day workshop for students of class 6th and 7th is scheduled from 4th October 2017 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at the Planetarium. Charges Rs.500/- per head.

A workshop for high school science teachers entitled "Science of Candles" is scheduled on 15th September 2017 between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm at Planetarium. Charges Rs.250/- per head.

One-day workshop on 'Soap Bubbles' for high school maths/science teachers is scheduled on 3rd August 2017 between 10.30 am & 4.30 pm. Registration fee is Rs.250/- per head.

Two-day workshop on 'Mathematics' for high school maths teachers is scheduled on 20th & 21st July 2017 between 10.30 am & 3.30 pm. Registration fee is Rs.500/-.

Teachers' workshop entitled "Tracker" is scheduled on 6th and 7th July between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm. Fee Rs.500/- per head.

Workshop for physically challenged Children

We conduct special workshops with hands-on activities to teach science.

Workshop on Universe in the Class Room

This is a three-day programme for high schools students. The workshop dealt with introduction to astronomy to the students with hands-on activities, model demonstrations and movies.

Workshop on Indian Astronomy for public
This is a two-day workshop for both students and the public aimed at helping them to impart the concepts, with many movies, interactive sessions and experiments. The workshop involved calculation of eclipses using Surya Siddhanta and understanding various instruments of the past like Jantar Mantar and astrolabes.
