One of the primary objectives of BASE is to impart quality science education at all levels that identify and nurture creative talents in science students to enable them to pursue career in research and teaching. Educational programmes are conducted by non-formal methods aimed at students from class III to graduate level.

All educational programmes become progressively more rigorous, focussed and structured, as it ought to be, since we address the lowest age group to the highest – forming an activity pyramid that culminates, as of now, with our REAP programmes.

This is ensured by the SEED, SOW and REAP programmes.

Year-long Programmes

SOW (Science Over Weekends) :

Weekend classes are conducted for high school and PUC. These are NOT tutorial classes that prepare students to face and excel in the examination. The principal aim of these classes is to provide a thorough understanding of scientific concepts through sessions that involve rigorous discussions, problem solving and experimentation which shape the students with right attitude towards scientific research.

REAP (Research Education Advancement Programme) :

REAP is a three year programme in physics that is offered concurrently with regular under graduate college education complementing the formal curriculum. The primary objective of this programme is to attract students to pure sciences and prepare them for a career in science. Faculty members and professors from premier institutes lecture in this programme to students pursuing B.Sc. or B.E. Courses. Lectures expose students to basic concepts in physics and astronomy with emphasis on problem-solving, experiments and use of computers.
