Visual Illusion is an important tool used by neuroscientists to understand how the brain creates its sense of reality. Illusions serve as a window to gain insights into the inner workings of the visual system. Artists have contributed a lot by designing techniques to deceive brain into believing 2D flat canvas as 3D world. When we experience a visual illusion, we may see something that is NOT there or fail to see something that is there. Because of this disconnect between reality and perception, we can learn about computational methods used by the brain to construct visual experience.
